George County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2010 census, the population was 22,578. Its county seat is Lucedale. The county is named for James Z. Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 484 square miles (1,250 km²), of which 479 square miles (1,240 km²) is land and 4.9 square miles (13 km²) (1.0%) is water.
